That's what happened to the Annamalai family, who faced a devastating loss last year. Shenivasan Annamalai, the father of a son and a loving husband, died suddenly from a stroke caused by a brain aneurysm.

Shenivasan was the sole breadwinner of his family, working as an engineer at a local company. He had immigrated from India around 20 years ago with his wife, and had worked hard to provide a better life for his son. We reached out to our network of donors, sponsors, and partners, and asked them to donate items or services that could be auctioned off. We received an overwhelming response from our community.

We held the charity auction online, using a platform that allowed people to bid on the items and make donations directly to the Annamalai family's GoFundMe account. We also promoted the event on social media and through local media outlets. We invited the Annamalai family to join us for the live updates from the auction, where they could see the bids and the messages of support from the donors.

The charity auction was a huge success. We raised over $75,000 for the Annamalai family in just one night. The money went directly to their GoFundMe account, where they could access it anytime they needed it. The money helped them pay their mortgage, their bills, and their son's tuition for the next year. It also gave them some breathing room to mourn their loss and plan for their future.
